Decorative Peda-Gard

Single-component, solvent-based urethane system utilizing decorative quartz aggregate and clear finish coats

Decorative Peda-Gard is a decorative pedestrian waterproofing system that incorporates a blend of decorative quartz aggregates to provide a beautiful appearance with a clear topcoat. The quartz aggregate provides true depth of color for a distinctive appearance and excellent texture for slip resistance.

System Overview

Decorative Peda-Gard combines our single-component 70410 and 7430 urethanes with decorative quartz aggregate and a choice of five clear topcoat materials:

  • 70805/7952 Chemical-Resistant Urethane
  • 70817/70818 Chemical-Resistant Urethane
  • 70869/70819 Polyaspartic
  • Acrylithane HS2
  • Acrylithane HS4

How long does Decorative Peda-Gard need to cure before opening to pedestrian traffic?

Typically the coating needs to cure 48 hours before opening to pedestrian traffic. In cooler temperatures this time may be 72 hours.

What type concrete curing compounds can be used with Decorative Peda-Gard?

It is best to water cure concrete or use a sodium silicate curing compound. The use of acrylic or other “film forming” compounds will create bond issues and must be removed.

What is the minimum temperature at which Decorative Peda-Gard can be applied?

The coating should be applied at temperatures that are 40°F/4°C and rising during application.

What is the maximum concrete temperature that Decorative Peda-Gard can be applied?

The coating should not be applied to deck surfaces that are =/> 100°F/38°C.
